Position: Endoscopy Tech
Location: Concord, Massachusetts
Shift: 8-hour Day Shifts (Mon–Fri, 06:30–17:00)
Guaranteed Hours: 40
Facility: Emerson Hospital
Start: ASAP

Schedule Details:

• Weekend call: rotational (every 4th weekend, 48-hour call Sat–Sun)

• Weekday overnight call: once a week, rotational

• Holiday call: rotational

Certifications & Preferences:

• BLS required

• Surgical Technology program completion preferred

• Sterile Processing Technician certification (IAHCSMM or CBSPD) preferred

• SGNA certification preferred

Job Summary:
Supports the Endoscopy Unit by managing diagnostic and therapeutic GI equipment and assisting physicians during procedures. Ensures equipment quality, safety, and readiness under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare instrumentation, supplies, and equipment per procedure requirements

• Set up procedure rooms; assist during cases and anticipate provider needs

• Manage specimens accurately

• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize scopes and equipment per policy

• Perform quality assurance checks and maintain logs

• Troubleshoot endoscopic equipment and scope washers

• Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and restocking

• Support procedures outside the Endoscopy Unit

• Maintain inventory and collaborate with clinical teams

• Report equipment issues and participate in unit improvements

• Participate in on-call rotations and required training

• Uphold patient care standards, safety, privacy, and respect

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Graduate of accredited surgical technology or sterile processing program strongly preferred

• Prior sterile processing or instrument technician experience strongly preferred
