Registered Nurse – Operating Room
Facility: Banner Surgery Center – Thunderbird
Location: Glendale, Wisconsin
Assignment: ASAP through September 7, 2026
Schedule: 6:00 AM–3:30 PM
Availability: Primarily Tuesday–Thursday, with potential for additional weekday shifts and up to 5 days per week
Join a High-Volume Surgical Team
Banner Surgery Center – Thunderbird is seeking experienced Operating Room RNs to support increased surgical volume. This is an excellent opportunity for a perioperative nurse who is confident in a fast-paced OR and experienced with complex orthopedic procedures.
Experience Needed
Strong orthopedic experience is highly preferred, including:
Total Joint procedures
Mako Robotic Surgery
Hanna Table procedures
Robotic-Assisted General Surgery experience is highly desirable
Your Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care throughout the perioperative experience
Develop and update patient-specific plans of care
Coordinate care with surgeons and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Provide direct patient care and support safe surgical workflows
Monitor patient responses and revise care plans as needed
Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and physician orders accurately
Support patient and family education
Communicate effectively with the surgical team and other caregivers
Promote safe, efficient, evidence-based care in the operating room
Required Qualifications
Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing, or higher
Current RN License, temporary license, or compact RN license
BLS and ACLS required
Minimum 1 year of licensed OR RN experience for full-time/part-time roles
PRN candidates require a minimum of 2 years of OR RN experience
Additional Information
Candidates must be comfortable with the physical demands of an OR environment, including prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, and assisting with patient transfers.
