Position Title: Medical Assistant / Correctional Health Technician (MA/CHT)
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Facility: Lower Buckeye Jail (RFP)
Shift: 12-Hour Night Shifts | 3x12 per week
Duration: Minimum 13 Weeks

Role Overview

This role supports correctional healthcare services by assisting medical and nursing staff in delivering patient care within a secure facility. The position involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring smooth daily operations and quality care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

You will prepare patients for exams, record medical histories, take vital signs, and document all interactions in the electronic health record. Daily tasks include assisting with procedures, administering injections and immunizations, performing venipuncture and lab tests, and maintaining exam room readiness. You’ll also handle administrative duties such as scheduling, filing, and coordinating follow-up care.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program (per Arizona regulations)
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Current N95 fit testing documentation
  • Current First Aid certification
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, documentation systems)

Work Details

  • Must commit to 3 night shifts per week (12 hours each)
  • Minimum 13-week assignment
  • Work under supervision of licensed medical/nursing staff
