Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center (CVRMC), a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, is seeking an experienced Interim Health Information Management (HIM) Director to provide leadership and oversight of HIM operations in a rural healthcare environment.

The Interim HIM Director will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining medical record accuracy, overseeing coding and documentation processes, and supporting HIM staff while promoting data integrity and efficient department operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily Health Information Management operations.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, standards, and organizational policies.
• Manage medical records processes, coding operations, and documentation quality.
• Maintain accuracy, security, and integrity of patient health information.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to HIM team members.
• Monitor workflows and implement process improvements.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support patient care and regulatory requirements.
• Provide hands-on support in a fast-paced critical access hospital setting.

Required Qualifications

• Previous leadership experience in Health Information Management.
• Strong knowledge of medical records, coding, compliance, and data management.
• Ability to quickly adapt and provide effective department oversight.
• Experience working in a hospital or rural healthcare environment preferred.

Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center serves southern Gila County and surrounding rural communities, providing emergency care, inpatient and outpatient services, diagnostic imaging, surgical services, and specialty care.

• Observation Average Daily Census: 8
• Total Average Daily Census: 28
