L&D - LABOR AND DELIVERY

Position: Labor & Delivery RN (L&D) – Med/Surg Float
Facility: Scott County Hospital
Location: Scott City, Kansas
Shift: 12-hour Day Shift (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Position Overview

Scott County Hospital is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to support both L&D and Med/Surg units. This role is ideal for a versatile nurse comfortable working in a critical access environment with flexible unit coverage needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in Labor & Delivery unit
• Float to Med/Surg unit as needed based on staffing demands
• Monitor maternal and newborn status during labor and postpartum care
• Assist with routine Med/Surg patient care when floating
• Document care accurately using Cerner EMR
• Maintain safe, high-quality patient outcomes in a rural hospital setting

Requirements

• Active RN license (KS or compact)
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN required
• Experience in both L&D and Med/Surg preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts (6A–6P)
• Must be comfortable floating between units
• COVID vaccine not required (declination accepted)
